THE WOODLAND TRUST CYANOTYPE SERIES

Cyanotypes of Hainault Forest are a series of original photograms of botanicals collected from Hainault Forest. Also known as Sun Prints, cyanotypes use a technique of laying objects on paper painted with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing with water, which creates the Prussian Blue colour. This cyanotypes are hand printed on recycled cotton rag handmade watercolour paper. Each picture in the series is unique.

I have been a volunteer photographer for The Woodland Trust since 2019, and my photographs have been used in the new Hainault Forest Visitor Centre. I have been making a long term project of the forest using alternative photograph processes. These cyanotypes are made have been made during the lock down period.
